True etiquitte question about fork and knife position?

I know that your knife is ahead of your fork and you hold the fork with the prong facing down, but how do you bring the fork to your mouth? With prongs remaining down, that feels funny to me or do you flip the position flick your wrist so that your fork is facing prongs up when you bring it to your mouth.

Thank you.True etiquitte question about fork and knife position?
if you are eating something that you must cut with the knife, you stick the fork into it (prongs down) and raise the piece of food to your mouth with the prongs down. If you are eating food you don't need to cut, use the fork in your right hand, prongs up. I think piling food on the back of a fork looks crude. Why is the fork curved the way it is, if you aren't going to use it as a ';scoop';?True etiquitte question about fork and knife position?

I think this is why I have a phobia of eating in fancy restaurants!! Man, stop examining my every move and just let me EAT!!
Well you could eat USA style. Prongs up.
Believe it or not, both are acceptable; however, bringing the fork with the prongs facing up is more of an American style while bring the fork with the prongs facing down is European. Of course, this doesn't work for some kinds of food (peas for example :).
