Brutwurst originally from Cape Town in South Africa?.And then Octoberfest originally from Uganda. Because I went to Cape Town they were made first time cooked brutwurst of their culture. Is it true or false. If it false explaine why?Is it true or false question about food?
I assume you mean ';Bratwurst'; instead of Brutwurst? Bratwurst is German, the two words put together are German made:
';A bratwurst (IPA: [ˈbraːtvʊɐst] (help·info)) is a sausage composed of pork, beef, and sometimes veal. The name is German, derived from Old High German brätwurst, from brät- which is fine chopped meat and -wurst, sausage. Though the brat in bratwurst describes the way the sausages are made, it is often misconstrued to be derived from the German verb ';braten';, which means to pan fry or roast. Etymology aside, frying and roasting are far from the most common methods of preparation. Bratwurst is usually grilled and sometimes cooked in broth';, Wikipedia Bratwurst.
The first ';Oktoberfest'; took place in Munich, on October 12, 1810: For the commemoration of their marriage, Crown Prince Ludwig (later King Ludwig I) and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen (namesake of the Theresienwiese festival grounds) organized a great horse race (the marriage took place on October 12; the horse race on October 17 — therefore, there are different dates named as being the first Oktoberfest),'; Wikipeida Oktoberfest
If you had searched this stuff out, perhaps you could have found more information, such as instead of Brutwurst......it is Bratwurst, instead of Octoberfest it is Oktoberfest. There are holidays that we celebrate that did not always orginate here, as there are food that did not originate where we thought it did. For example, Crab Rangoon is American Chinese. Cream Cheese is not typically ever used in authentic Chinese food. It was presented at a World's Fair (not sure the year), but it not a regular dish in China. It is an American Chinese food.
Your statement if False. Is it true or false question about food?
It is not originally from South Africa, although you can get it here:
brat·wurst (brăt'wûrst', -vʊrst')
n.
A small sausage of highly seasoned fresh pork, usually served fried.
[German, from Middle High German brātwurst, from Old High German : brāto, meat + wurst, sausage; see wurst.]
Sure, you got your facts bassackwards.
The first Oktoberfest was in Munich October 12,1810 when Bavarian King Max Joseph who later became king Ludwig I married Princess Theresa Von Sachen. A festival was held and continued for days. It became a tradition each year after wards and is held in September because the weather is more pleasant. About the Bratwurst, it is also of German/Polish origin and was spread all over the Western world by immigrants.
I am sure that at one time it was also celebrated in Uganda when it was a German possession and even now by a few Expats still there.
