My mom is obsessed with the show. I like the show to but not obessive like my mom. So to make her happy I want to buy her the book. My question is, what books is season one based on? The 1st season is based on the 1st book called Dead Until Dark. The second book is called Living Dead in Dallas. There are I think 9 books out right now. You should get both 1%26amp;2 for your mom. The tv show is only based on the books and if she were to just pick up #2 she would be lost. they are written by Charlaine Harris
